Garden City wanted to keep the Garden City Ice Arena and hence had secured Recreation Passport grant from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Grant monies from Wayne County Parks Millage fund for this project. The existing locker rooms were very outdated. There had been no improvements to locker rooms. The newly constructed locker room would accommodate up to 20 people. There were 4 locker rooms existing, 2 large locker rooms, and 2 small locker rooms.
