Construction Division

Carpenter (Detroit, MI)

No. of positions available: 1

Major Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of carpentry installations including doors, windows and sidings, maintenance, projects, repairs and is good in aluminum trimming.

  • This many include layout and construction of walls, stairs, common rafters, cabinets, storage/organizers, drywall, application of pre-finished floors and ceilings, partitions, and other repairs.

  • Responds to work order requests and work as assigned, coordinates with other building staff and trades, fulfills carpentry requirements and tracks work performed.

  • May be required to do installations of a variety of interior systems and construction materials using technical data supplied by manufacturers in commercial buildings and structures.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred High school diploma or GED. Technical/vocational school training and certification is a plus.

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years commercial or residential skilled carpentry experience required.

  • Must have hands-on experience of both rough and finish carpentry and with construction, maintenance, repairs, and remodeling trades, practices, techniques, tools and equipment, and materials.

  • Proficient at the following tasks: stain-grade trim work, furniture repair and reconditioning, hanging doors and windows; layout and construction of walls, stairs, common rafters, cabinets, storage/organizers; drywall, application of pre-finished floors and ceilings, partitions, and repairs.

  • Must be able to read blueprints and apply appropriate math skills.

  • Needs to have a good level of manual dexterity and the ability to imagine how things will look when assembled/constructed.

  • Must be precise and pay attention to detail and follow set standards and rules.

  • Should have basic tools(Preferred).

  • Current Lead Abatement Supervisor, MI(Required)

  • Driver's License (Required)

 

Diesel Mechanic

No. of positions available: 1

Major Responsibilities: 

Our Demolition division is seeking a full-time heavy equipment field service diesel technician / mechanic for our Detroit, MI branch, for its newly constructed 3,200 SF workshop.

The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to:

  • Complete inspections

  • Maintenance Basic diagnosis and troubleshooting

  • Testing General repairs

  • Upkeep of the service truck

  • Scheduling of repairs

  • Tracking and scheduling

  • Ensures safety policies and procedures are being followed.

  • Repairs or replaces defective parts.

  • Completes daily work orders as work is completed, hourly log, and signs and turns in all daily VCR’s to indicate that repairs have been completed.

  • Completes all “DOT Out of Service” repairs to trucks and trailers nightly to ensure they are in good working condition before they leave the premises the following day.

  • Audit repairs and make sure they are done correctly

  • Take the service truck for road side repairs

Qualifications:

  • Three to Five years of previous heavy equipment or over the road (OTR) repair experience is required

  • Excellent mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of the following systems: engine, power train, hydraulics and electrical

  • Possess own tools

  • Must have a clean driving record

  • Read and interpret operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

 

Operator (Excavator/Dozers)

No. of positions available: 1

Minimum 2 Year Experience.  Assist with demolition and load out. Should have past experience operating excavators and wrecking in the City of Detroit.The candidate should have a valid drivers license and should be able to clear the background check and Drug test. 

 

Drivers (CDL-A )

No. of positions available: 2

We have current opening for an experienced qualified CDL-A Driver with a valid health card and clean driving record. Candidate must have Heavy Haul, Quad Axle Lead, Lo-Boy & Gravel Train Experience. Driver must be able to maintain log book as well as vehicle inspection reports. The candidate must have minimum of 3 years of experience.

 


Accounting Division

 

Accounts Payable/Receivable Assistant

Immediate opening for a qualified and motivated Accounts Payable/Receivable Assistant. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and have an ability to perform various tasks required by the Accounting Department. This candidate will also be trained to cover the Front Desk/Reception area as required to fill in occasionally.

General Purpose: Responsible for completing payments and controlling expenses by receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices. Performing accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable and receivable transactions.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.

  • Charges expenses to accounts and cost center by analyzing invoice/expense reports, recording entries.

  • Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.

  • Pay employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and requests for advances, preparing checks.

  • Maintains historical records by filing documents.

  • Review and verify invoices and check requests.

  • Sort, code, and match invoices and set invoices up for payments.

  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.

  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies/issues.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of accounts payable and QuickBooks accounting software.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of general accounting procedures

  • Proficient in date entry and management

  • Attention to detail and accuracy, problem-solving skills and teamwork.

  • The ability to effectively use standard business software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. The applicant will also use the Internet for research and information-gathering.

  • Professional in appearance and attitude

  • Maintain vendor files.

  • Creating Invoices as requested by the Project Team.

  • Following up on payment with the clients

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING:

  • Bachelor’s in Business/Accounting Preferred

  • Minimum two years of relevant experience

  • Experience in Construction Industry Preferred.
