Detroit Fire Stations-Window Replacement

Description

DMC was hired by the GSD to perform window replacements across various Fire Stations for the Detroit Fire Department. DMC performed work in an occupied environment, coordinating installation schedule with GSD to minimize disruption to Fire Department Operations.

Scope Of Work

DMC was responsible for furnishing and installing Wojan Window M -950 Series, Single-Hung & Fixed, Commercial-grade aluminum windows.

DMC replaced all interior and exterior trim damaged by the work as well as caulking the perimeter of all openings.

DMC was responsible for all clean-up inside and outside of the project site.

DMC ensured the protection of all finishes, fixtures, and fittings within the work area.

DMC ensured that the firehouse is protected from inclement weather during window replacement.

DMC field measured each opening before manufacturing and submitted detailed shop drawings before ordering windows.

Value Engineering: At the earlier stages of the project, DMC recommended alternative product M-950 series windows in lieu of specified M-85 series due to the better durability compared to 85 series. This product swap resulted in minimum cost and schedule impact to GSD.

DMC finished the project on Schedule and Budget.
