GLWA – Site Improvements at Puritan-Fenkell & Leib CSO Facilities

Description

As the regional water authority in the state of Michigan, GLWA provides drinking water and sewer services for the Southeast Michigan communities. GLWA operates numerous Wastewater and Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) facilities. This project consisted of site improvements and upgrades to infrastructure at the Leib and Puritan-Fenkell Facilities.

 

Scope Of Work

Puritan-Fenkell CSO Facility:

  • Removal and replacement of existing concrete sidewalk, including ADA Ramps
  • Construction of gravel walkway and steps from control building to outfall
  • Regrading soils above CSO basin to provide for positive drainage
  • Installation of 8” Perforated HDPE Trench Drain
  • Demo and Installation of Fencing around Property
  • Installation of dome-topped bollards to illuminate walkways and steps

Leib CSO Facility:

  • Installation of 8” storm drain system including Nyoplast drainage structures, corrugated pipes, and cleanouts
  • Removal and replacement of existing brick pavers above storm drain system
  • Demo and Replacement of wrought iron fence
  • Demo and Replacement of concrete walkway, curb, and gutter along existing building
  • Updates to chemical containment basin including new curb and installation of new bollards
