Locker Room Addition – Garden City Ice Arena

Description

Garden City wanted to keep the Garden City Ice Arena and hence had secured Recreation Passport grant from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Grant monies from Wayne County Parks Millage fund for this project. The existing locker rooms were very outdated. There had been no improvements to locker rooms. The newly constructed locker room would accommodate up to 20 people. There were 4 locker rooms existing, 2 large locker rooms, and 2 small locker rooms. This proposed addition on the south wall had dedicated shower and bathrooms.

Scope Of Work

DMC was contracted by City of Garden City for construction (addition) of the new locked room on the south wall with ADA compliant bathrooms and showers. This addition was at the Garden City Ice Arena located at 200 N Log Cabin Rd, Garden City, MI 48135. This was a 450 SF on slab addition with Net 410 SF of carpet area.

The scope of work included selective demolition, footings & concrete, CMU, Carpentry Rough and Finish, Roofing, Ceiling, Painting, Bathroom/Shower partitions & fixtures.

The project was finished in winter conditions. This project was a Davis Bacon wage rate project.
