Description

Genesee County Land Bank (GCLB) awards DMC a contract for Environmental Abatement and Disposal for Residential/Commercial Structures.  The GCLBA recently received $23.8 million from the State of Michigan:$20.1 million in Hardest Hit Fund (HHF) through the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) and $3.7 million in Michigan Blight Elimination Grant (MBEG) funds for demolition through the Michigan Land Bank in partnership with MSHDA, and the Department of Human Services. The work  performed under this contract complies to the requirements of Section3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act.

Scope Of Work

  • Removal and disposal of environmentally hazardous materials from specific residential/commercial structures.
  • Removal of the presence of hazardous materials/waste including but not limited to the following
    • Asbestos Containing Building Materials
    • Paint (Latex/Oil Base)
    • Pesticides/Herbicides
    • Fluorescent Light Bulbs
    • Fluorescent Light Fixture Ballasts
    • Mercury Switches
    • Fuels/Solvents/Oils
    • Underground Storage Tanks
    • Aboveground Storage Tanks
    • Refrigerators/ Air Conditioners/Freezers
    • Chemicals
    • Providing the appropriate packaging to transport the materials/wastes from each site in accordance
      with all applicable state and federal laws.
    • All materials/wastes segregated and packaged according to the applicable hazardous class.
    • Preparing the proper shipping papers necessary to transport the materials from each individual site.
    • Removal and disposal of potentially environmentally hazardous material.
